The top-four Taiwan-based notebook ODMs, Quanta Computer, Compal Electronics, Wistron and Inventec, are expected to see their notebook shipments remain strong in June after posting strong gains in May, according to a Chinese-language Economic Daily News (EDN) report.

Quanta shipped 3.7 million notebooks in May, an increase of 800,000 units from the previous month and is expected to see its shipments grow slightly in June, said the paper, total notebook shipments for the second quarter are likely to expand by 20% from a quarter earlier.

Compal saw its notebook shipments increase 600,000 units to 2.5 million in May and expects its shipments to stay flat or grow marginally in the second quarter, added the paper.

Wistron and Inventec both saw their shipments surge 300,000 units to 1.5 million units in May. The two ODMs expect their shipment momentum to continue in June.
