Foxconn will soon sign a deal with Sharp that'll see its acquisition of the company move forward. Reuters reports they will sign a takeover deal on March 31 and Foxconn may be greatly reducing its bid for the company due to the discovery of undisclosed liabilities in February.
Sources claim the deal will be signed for around $3.4 billion, down from the earlier $4.3 billion. When they were close to signing a deal last month, the discovery of those liabilities put the entire takeover on pause.
With this acquisition, Foxconn will have a large role in the display supply chain and it could use the Sharp brand to come out with its own products. |
