Samsung's 12-inch wafer fab in Xian, China generated a total of CNY11.509 billion (US$1.81 billion) in the first eight months of 2015, according to China-based newspaper Xian Daily.

Samsung's Xian fab is expected to report CNY15 billion in output value for all of 2015, said the paper.

Samsung in May 2014 announced its memory fabrication line in Xian, a city in the northwest of China, had begun full-scale manufacturing operations. The new facility would manufacture Samsung's advanced NAND flash memory chips dubbed 3D V-NAND, the Korea-based chip vendor said.
