Intel has recently invited regional brand vendors worldwide to its LOEM Summit, which will be held from December 7-10 in Taiwan, to assist them to find manufacturing partners. Several Taiwan- and China-based PC makers are expected to attend the event to gain orders, according to sources from notebook makers.
Intel has also sent technicians from its technology and sales departments to hold meetings and discussions with vendors.
Several makers are also showcasing their latest Intel-based netbooks, tablet PCs, notebooks, all-in-one PCs and SFF PCs to attract vendors. Since regional brand vendors do not have resources in terms of technological development and economic scale, as strong as first-tier vendors, Intel is hoping that the show will help match up players to further strengthen its brand publicity as well as shipments.
Taiwan-based makers such as Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry), Pegatron Technology, Clevo, Gigabyte Technology, Shuttle and Elitegroup Computer System (ECS), and China-based makers including Lengda, Malata, 3NOD, J&W and TopStar have all attended the show, while first-tier makers Quanta Computer and Compal Electronics have also both showed up to compete for orders.
