HTC's sale figures are still very low and company is trying various things to increase sales. The company released several high-end smartphones this year and they are not stopping as the new One M9 is in the works, and this time it will be powered by MediaTek chipset.

The current flagship One M9 is having problems with overheating Snapdragon 810 and there is enough negative press about that. The redesigned "Hero" smartphone is scheduled for the last quarter of the year, but it might be beaten by a MediaTek powered version of the HTC One M9. The exact chip used in the phone is unknown, but HTC might use the upcoming deca-core SoC from MediaTek.
