Notebook ODM Quanta Computer has reported NT$83.64 billion (US$2.64 billion) in July consolidated revenues, down 21.43% on month but up 7.33% on year. The company has totaled NT$539.84 billion in year-to-date revenues, up 6.21% compared with the same time last year.
Quanta shipped 3.2 million notebooks in July, down from 4.1 million units in June. Quanta is not expected to see significant contribution from Apple Watch shipments until the fourth quarter, some market watchers noted.
Quanta expects its August and September notebook shipments to grow and its third-quarter shipments may produce better results than those for the second quarter.
Compal Electronics had revenues of NT$60.13 billion for July, down 17.27% on month and 13.61% on year, while combined consolidated revenues for the first seven months were NT$45.73 billion, up 3.45% on year.
Compal shipped 2.8 million notebooks in July, but the volume may reach 3.9 million units in September. Compal expects its third-quarter shipments to rise by a single-digit percentage sequentially. As for the fourth quarter, Compal also has weak visibility.
As for its handset shipments, Compal said that the volume is expected see significant growth in September. Currently, Compal is shipping 150,000-160,000 LCD TVs every month.
Wistron's July revenues were NT$44.82 billion, down 17.11% on month and 3.3% on year. The company has totaled NT$341.38 billion in year-to-date revenues, up 10.84% compared with the same time last year.
In July, Wistron shipped 1.4 million notebooks, 500,000 smart handheld devices, 150,000 servers and 300,000 LCD TVs. Wistron expects its notebook shipments to grow on month in August and the volume in September to be about the same as June.
Wistron also estimates that its smart handheld device shipments to grow on month in both August and September, while server shipments in August will remain flat from July, but will enjoy growth in September. But overall shipments in the third quarter will be higher than those in the second. Wistron's LCD TV shipments will decline sequentially in the third quarter and rise slightly or remain flat in the fourth quarter.
Inventec has reported consolidated revenues of NT$32.21 billion for July 2015, representing a 3.23% increase on month and 3.15% drop on year.
The company has totaled NT$212.21 billion in year-to-date revenues, down 16.73% compared with the same time last year.
Inventec was the only top-4 ODM to see on-month revenue growth thanks to its tablet and smartphone shipments. Inventec shipped 1.55 million tablets, notebooks and all-in-one PCs combined in July, up slightly from June. |
