Memory backend specialist Powertech Technology (PTI) is expected to post revenue growth of 9-10% sequentially in the second quarter of 2015, Taiwan's Central News Agency (CNA) quoted market watchers as saying in a recent report.

PTI's revenues for June are likely to exceed NT$3.5 billion (US$113 million), the report quoted the watchers as estimating. Revenues are also set to register another sequential increase in the third quarter, the report said.

At its recent shareholders meeting, PTI expressed optimism about demand arising from the Internet of Things (IoT), smart homes and smart cars. Demand for logic chips and SSDs will drive growth of the overall semiconductor industry in 2015, PTI said.

PTI has in recent years expanded its business in the logic IC field. Sales generated from the logic IC sector accounted for 30% of the backend house's overall revenues in the first quarter of 2015.

Meanwhile, the company's plan to distribute a cash dividend per share of NT$3 for 2014 was approved by its shareholders. PTI reported net profits of NT$3.24 billion, or NT$4.24 a share, on consolidated revenues of NT$40.04 billion for 2014.

PTI saw its first-quarter revenues decrease 3.5% sequentially to NT$9.43 billion, due to a slowdown in demand for PCs and mobile phones, and clients adjusting their inventories.
