China's Xiaomi has become the second largest wearable company in the world and only sits behind Fitbit. New data from IDC shows Xiaomi has grown at an impressive rate and had 2.8 million shipments in Q1 2015 compared to Fitbit's 3.9 million.

Those shipments provide Xiaomi with a 24.6% market share while Fitbit still dominates the market with 34.2%. Garmin, Samsung, and Jawbone sit behind Xiaomi with 6.1%, 5.1%, and 4.4% respectively. Pebble and Sony were not in the top five.
In the past year, wearable shipments have increased 200%. The Apple Watch--which wasn't included in this research--will further increase shipments.
Xiaomi's market share is impressive given its first wearable wasn't even unveiled until last summer. |
