HTC expects its sales to reach NT$46-51 billion (US$1.5-1.68 billion) in the second quarter of 2015 compared to NT$41.52 billion recorded in the previous quarter, the company said during an online investor conference held on April 28.
Gross margin is expected to stand at 23-23.5% in the second quarter, a significant improvement from 19.7% a quarter earlier.
EPS for the second quarter is expected to reach NT$0.06-0.34, down from NT$0.43 recorded in the previous quarter, the company said.
Meanwhile, the company also noted that its sales in the US have been growing robustly, with the March quarter performance in the best since 2011.
Sales of its HTC One- and Desire-series products in Europe have also advanced steadily, the company added.
For new products, HTC plans to start marketing its HTC Grip bracelets in the US in the second half of 2015, and is expected to launch virtual reality (VR) devices by the end of 2015, said the company.
Meanwhile, Chang said that HTC currently has no plans to establish manufacturing facilities in India, but is seeking the opportunity to cooperate with local brands.
HTC currently holds a 6% share of the smartphone market in India and plans to launch new HTC Desire-series products in the third quarter, Chang revealed. |
