King Yuan Electronics (KYEC), Sigurd Microelectronics and Ardentec, three Taiwan-based providers of IC testing services, expect their revenues for the fourth quarter of 2010 to decrease sequentially by smaller than originally forecast percentages due to increased orders from Qualcomm, Broadcom and other developers of telecom ICs arising from booming global demand for smartphones, according to industry sources in Taiwan.
KYEC expects its overall capacity utilization to slightly drop from 70-80% in the third quarter to about 70% in the fourth quarter of 2010, resulting in a one-digit decrease in fourth-quarter revenues on quarter, the sources indicated.
Ardentec sees capacity utilization at over 85% for mixed-signal, power management and logic ICs and at 80-85% for networking/communication, MCU and NOR flash ICs currently, the sources pointed out. The company expects fourth-quarter revenues to fall by 3-5% on quarter.
Sigurd expects a one-digit on-quarter drop in fourth-quarter revenues, the sources indicated.
