Memory packaging and testing house Powertech Technology (PTI) is expected to post sequential revenue growth through the third quarter of 2015, according to market observers.

PTI's sales for the first quarter were affected mainly by seasonal factors. However, sales will pick up in the second quarter and begin to register sequential increases thanks to a ramp-up of orders from memory vendors including Micron Technology, Toshiba, Intel and SanDisk, which are transitioning to newer production nodes, said the observers.

In addition, a joint-venture plant between PTI and Micron will start contributing to PTI's revenues in the first quarter of 2016, when the plant enters mass production, the observers noted. Located in Xian, China, the plant will be used by PTI to provide Micron with assembly and packaging services.

PTI is scheduled to hold its quarterly investors meeting on April 30 to discuss its performance in the first quarter and guidance for the following quarters.

PTI has announced consolidated revenues of NT$9.43 billion (US$304 million) for the first quarter of 2015, down about 3.5% sequentially but up 2.2% on year.
