South Korea's Hynix Semiconductor has raised its 2010 capex spending to 2.3 trillion won ($1.95 billion), from its earlier estimate of more than 1.5 trillion won in October,  versus about 1 trillion won in 2009.
Hynix, the world's No. 2 maker of memory chips, said in a filing to the Korea Exchange on Thursday that the amount included planned investment in South Korea and abroad. But no further details were given.
Its shares closed up 1.4% ahead of that announcement, outperforming the KOSPI's 1.3% gain.
