More money is being pumped into the smart home market by Xiaomi now that the company has invested $200 million in a home tech company called Midea. The Chinese company has taken a 1.29 percent share of Midea for the $200 million investment. Midea has a number of products like refrigerators and air conditioners. The company's products are being upgraded to become "smart" since Midea expanded into the smart home market in March.

Xiaomi itself has a large number of products outside of its popular smartphones. The company has a fitness band, smart TV, blood pressure kit, and routers. The Chinese tech company is helping more than 200 startups grow right now.

It is not clear what sort of integration, if any, there will be between Midea and Xiaomi as a result of this collaboration.
