Memory-IC packaging and testing house Powertech Technology (PTI) saw its cumulative 2014 sales through November increase 7% from a year earlier to NT$36.86 billion (US$1.18 billion). Sales for November slid 3% sequentially to NT$3.25 billion.

PTI expects sales to decline slightly in the fourth quarter as compared to the previous quarter, affected by seasonality and inventory adjustments at clients. Demand for standard DRAM chips and logic ICs is expected to slip during the quarter, while that for mobile DRAM and flash devices will remain strong, indicated the company at its most-recent investors meeting.

Profits and gross margin for the fourth quarter will also see slight decreases. Nevertheless, PTI is looking to generate revenue and profit growth in 2015, according to the company.

In addition, PTI disclosed its 2014 capex is expected to reach NT$10 billion, and the company will be conservative on spending in 2015. Capex for 2015 will focus on investments in wafer-level, flip-chip and other advanced packaging technologies.
