Siliconware Precision Industries (SPIL) has announced an equipment purchase worth NT$574.62 million (US$18 million) from Verigy, which mainly supplies automated test equipment.
So far in 2010, SPIL has disclosed to the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE) two purchases of equipment from Verigy with a total transaction value of around NT$1.08 billion. The chip packaging and testing firm has also completed three separate purchases totaling about NT$2.23 billion from Kulicke & Soffa Industries (K&S), which makes chip assembly equipment including wire bonders.
SPIL has budgeted NT$21 billion in capex for 2010, compared to NT$4.74 billion allocated for 2009 and NT$9.04 billion for 2008. |
