The Central Government Procurement Center established by the China government through cooperation with China-based e-commerce operators Tmall and Suning, has set up the Central Government Procurement Online Store to host government procurement open-bids, and Acer has been selected as a candidate supplier for desktops, notebooks, AIO (all-in-one) PCs and cloud computing servers. Other Taiwan-based candidate suppliers are Asustek Computer and Advantech for cloud computing servers and Arora for printers, according to industry sources.

Since China's consumer demand for IT products has not seen any major rise recently, local IT vendors and international PC vendors have turned to look for business opportunities from the new platform.

The China government uses the platform to procure IT products efficiently and compare prices, allowing the procurement process to become more transparent.

In addition to China-based Lenovo, Tsinghua Tongfang, Haier, Founder, Great wall, ZTE, Huawei, Inspur and Sugon, international brand vendors including LG, Samsung, Hewlett-Packard (HP), Dell, IBM, Juniper, Philips, Microsoft, Oracle, Canon, Ricoh, General Electrics (GE), Sharp and Toshiba have also joined the platform.
