Not leaving LG to party alone, Samsung too announced a new Smartwatch today. Unlike the LG G Watch R, the new Samsung Gear S runs on Tizen OS, and doesn't feature a circular display. However, it does come with a curved display, and 3G calling support.

The display is relatively larger than other Smartwatches on this one - a 2" 360 x 480 resolution Super AMOLED panel. The Samsung Gear S is powered by a 1 GHz dual-core processor, complemented by 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of internal storage.

This wearable device comes with a SIM card slot which supports both 2G and 3G networks. You can basically make calls using Samsung's new Smartwatch.

The Samsung Gear S is IP67 certified, meaning it is both water and dust resistant. There's a heart rate sensor, ambient light, UV, barometer and your usual array of sensors.

Samsung also announced the Gear Circle, a bluetooth stereo headset that you can use to listen to music, or place calls while you are on the move. It looks pretty cool as well, so you won't mind having it around your head.

The Gear S has a 300 mAhLi-On battery, and Samsung promises 2 days of battery life. Let's see if real-world usage holds up to that figure.

Both Gear S and Gear Circle will begin rolling out across the globe in October, 2014.
