King Yuan Electronics (KYEC), which specializes in IC testing, has reported its highest monthly revenues ever at NT$1.31 billion (US$41 million) in June 2010. Revenues for the second quarter totaled NT$3.79 billion, up 13.5% sequentially and slightly beating market estimates.
KYEC has enjoyed high utilization rates for LCD driver ICs and logic chips. The company was quoted in a recent report estimating utilization rate for LCD driver ICs at over 80%, and logic ICs at 70-80%.
KYEC's utilization rates for wafer probing and finished product testing have exceeded 90%, implying strong demand from its foundry and IDM customers, according to a report. The IC testing firm has also grabbed new orders from Macronix International and other NOR flash makers, the paper indicated.
