Memory module house A-data Technology saw sales begin to rebound in June. However, overall results for the second quarter of 2010 still showed a sequential drop of over 10%. A-data announced revenues of NT$3.56 billion (NT$111 million) for June 2010, up 9.6% on month. Revenues amounted to NT$10.52 billion in the second quarter, down 10.25% sequentially.
A-data said second-quarter revenues were dragged down by weaker end-market demand. Customers have been cautious on inventories in the wake of Europe's debt crisis, according to the company, adding that it expects restocking demand to start picking up in the latter part of the third quarter.
A-data also estimates its profits for the second quarter may have decreased sequentially, due to sluggish prices for both DRAM and NAND flash chips.
A-data generated net profits of NT$456 million in the first quarter, showing 26% growth from a year ago. Revenues for the quarter soared to NT$11.73 billion, from NT$5.81 billion posted in the same quarter of 2009.
