China-based vendor Xiaomi Technology on June 16 unveiled its new smartphone model, Hong-mi (meaning Red Rice) Note, for sale in the Taiwan market at a contract-free retail price of NT$4,999 (US$166) exclusively through PChome Online, a web portal and operator of online shopping services in Taiwan, according to Xiaomi and PChome.
Hong-mi Note features Android 4.2, MediaTek-developed MTK6592 1.7GHz 8-core processor, a 5.5-inch 720p TFT IPS touch screen, 2GB RAM and 8GB ROM, a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera, support of WCDMA and GSM, dimensions of 154 (H) by 78.7 (W) by 9.45 (D)mm and a weight of 199g.
PChome will begin online pre-ordering on June 20 and online sale on June 27, the company indicated. There will be only 10,000 units of Hong-mi Note available for sale initially, PChome pointed out. The smartphone will be delivered to purchasers within 24 hours following online purchases. |
