Powertech Technology (PTI), which provides memory-IC backend services to customers such as Elpida Memory, Kingston Technology and Toshiba, has announced consolidated revenues for May 2010 grew 3.4% sequentially to NT$3.1 billion (US$96 million).
PTI's consolidated sales from January to May totaled NT$14.75 billion, up from NT$10.62 billion posted for the same period of 2009.
PTI chairman DK Tsai was quoted in previous reports forecasting the company's revenues would grow by 20% or more in 2010, with new capacity to come online. Prior to that, his estimation was a 10-20% growth.
PTI is scheduled to start shipping products from its recently-acquired factory building located in Hsinchu, Taiwan in the third quarter, and at the same time the backend house will also kick off shipments for new orders placed with its Suzhou, China plant which it bought from Spansion in August 2009.
