China-based vendor Huawei Device has set a goal of shipping 80 million smartphones globally in 2014, growing 53.8% on year, according to the company.
  Huawei Device said it has sold eight million units of its flagship smartphone, the Honor 3C, launched at the end of 2013, and expects to sell 20 million in 2014.
  In order to enhance its brand image, Huawei Device said it has set aside a budget of US$300 million for global marketing in 2014, with about 40% to be spent in the China market.
  In 2013, Huawei Device shipped 52 million smartphones, up 62.5% on year, 24.4 million fixed-line Internet-access terminal devices, down 2.4%, 44.5 million mobile broadband Internet-access devices, down 11%, and had 80 million subscribers of its cloud services at the end of the year.
