While Samsung Electronics has dominated the global Android smartphone market with a market share of 65% and LG Electronics, HTC, Sony Mobile Communications and Motorola Mobility have global market shares of 7%, 6%, 5% and 4%, respectively, Lenovo is likely to surpass the other vendors through its acquisition of Motorola Mobility, according to Taiwan-based supply chain makers.
Lenovo has a high market share for Android smartphones in China and other emerging markets, and Motorola Mobility has a good reputation in the US and Europe, the sources said.
LG is set to launch the 5.9-inch G Pro 2, G2 mini and L-series III, HTC will launch the All New HTC One and Desire, and Sony Mobile will soon launch the Xperia Z2 together with Xperia M2 and Xperia E1. |
