IC testing houses King Yuan Electronics Company (KYEC) and Sigurd Microelectronics have both report sequential revenue growth for April 2010, boosted by strong demand from chip customers.
KYEC registered revenues of NT$1.21 billion (US$38 million) in April, the highest since July 2008. The April sales represent growth of 2.8% sequentially and 51.1% on year.
KYEC was quoted in previous reports saying monthly revenues may increase sequentially during the second quarter, driven mainly by demand from the LCD driver IC sector.
KYEC is likely to enjoy a sequential revenue growth of 10% in the second quarter, according to market sources. It saw first-quarter revenues remain almost flat sequentially at NT$3.34 billion.
Sigurd posted consolidated revenues of NT$429 million in April, an historic high. Consolidated sales in April grew 2% on month and 39% on year, according to the testing company.
