A new flagship from Sony this CES was a no-go, and honestly, I was slightly relieved by that. Being an owner of the Xperia Z1 since September end, three months is a very short time to own a flagship Smartphone that costs top dollar, only to be told that a new phone is going to replace it soon. However, to fight against competition, the Japanese company has no option but to fight the battle at every possible corner. And therefore, Sony's next flagship will arrive 5 short months after the Xperia Z1, at MWC 2014 next month (end of February).
@evleaks, known for being spot on with all his leaks, confirmed that Sony's next flagship Smartphone, codenamed Sirius, is definitely coming next month and is powered by Qualcomm's revised Snapdragon 800 MSM8974AB SoC. While we would have loved to see the Snapdragon 805 power Sony's next flagship, the current Snapdragon 800 is already a powerhouse. Also, Sony Sirius indeed packs a 5.2-inch display, which our sources confirm to be of WQHD (2560 x 1440) resolution, fitting into the same dimensions as the Xperia Z1 (thank god for that).
Also, Sony's next phone will be coming to Verizon in the US. Other carriers might offer the device too, but at a later date.
