Chip packaging and testing firm Advanced Semiconductor Engineering (ASE) has announced consolidated revenues for April 2010 totaled NT$14.66 billion (US$465.6 million), down 7.5% over March. Excluding sales generated by Universal Scientific Industrial (USI), ASE's consolidated revenues for the month slid 0.3% on month.
ASE said its ATM assembly test and material business, excluding USI, generated sales of NT$9.97 billion in April, compared to NT$10 billion in March and NT$6.12 billion in April 2009.
Siliconware Precision Industries (SPIL) saw revenues for April 2010 decrease 3% sequentially to NT$5.1 billion. April revenues on a consolidated basis were NT$5.38 billion, down 2.4% on month.
Both ASE's and SPIL's April results were below market expectations, according to report. The news quoted company sources as indicating their revenues for the month slid mainly due to tight foundry capacity, which disrupted shipments. |
