Canon rolled out its freshest stock of compact mirrorless cameras, led by the EOS M2. The interchangeable lens camera builds on the design and image quality we've come to expect from last year's EOS M, but with improvements made to AF and processing speeds.
The EOS M2 promises auto-focus speeds that are 2.3 times quicker than the EOS M, all thanks to the Hybrid CMOS AF II system, which expands the focus window up to 80 percent of the viewfinder's area. Under the hood is the same 18-megapixel APS-C sensor.
Launched in Japan, the EOS M2 is retailing for the equivalent of $820 for a package that includes an 18-55 mm stock lens, and for the equivalent of $620 for the body-only package. There's no word on when it will launch stateside.
