China-based vendor TCL sold 1.19 million LCD TVs globally in October, decreasing 10.2% on year, while fellow vendor Skyworth shipped 820,000 LCD TVs globally, slipping 15.2% on year and 30% sequentially, according to industry sources in Taiwan.
  TCL sold 670,000 LCD TVs in the China market in October, including 210,000 smart TVs and 150,000 3D sets, the sources noted. It sold 520,000 LCD TVs in overseas markets in October, slipping 10.1% on year, the sources indicated. Among overseas markets, sales in emerging markets decreased 7.9% while those in Europe market increased 17.5%.
  Skyworth sold 648,000 LCD TVs in the China market in October, falling 14.5% on year, and 220,000 units of them were connected models, and 144,000 3D ones, the sources indicated, adding Skyworth's October LCD TV sales in overseas markets dipped 17.7% on year to 172,000 units.
  During January-October, TCL had global sales of 13.28 million LCD TVs, growing 9% on year, while Skyworth sold 6.419 million units, up 7%, the sources noted.
  Demand for LCD TVs in the China market is expected to remain weak through first-quarter 2014 and rebound in the following quarter, the sources indicated.
