Michael Coombes and James Atkins, both ex-HTC UK executives, started their very own Smartphone making company after leaving HTC. And today, the first devices under the brand "Kazam" have been announced. But that's not where their services stop. Kazam'sspeciality won't be that it is yet another budget phone-making company, but the after-sales services that they company's founders hope will help them shine. Free cracked glass replacement is one of such features, and stock Android OS is the other. While the first is a value added service, the latter will help Kazam roll out software updates much faster than the competition.
Kazam's lineup includes five devices, their screen sizes mentioned in their names - Trooper X3.5, X4.0, X4.5, X5.0, and X5.5. The display resolution varies from 320 x 480 to a not-so-impressive 854 x 480 for the top model. Also, all of the devices are powered by either 1 or 1.2 GHz dual-core SoCs, 512 MB RAM and feature 4 GB of expandable storage. Only the Thunder Q4.5 boasts of a 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek processor and 1 GB of RAM.
