Micron Technology has seen nearly 30% of its PC-use DRAM production capacity booked up by large clients and its supply available for other clients in September-December 2013 will decrease significantly, according to Taiwan-based memory supply chain makers.
SK Hynix's factory in eastern China has a monthly production capacity of 130,000 12-inch wafers, consisting of 100,000 units for making PC-use DRAM and 30,000 units for Mobile RAM, the sources noted. Although SK Hynix indicated that the factory will completely resume production in November, products will need to be re-certified by PC OEMs, and this is expected to delay supply, the sources indicated.
