Consolidated revenues at IC packager Siliconware Precision Industries (SPIL) grew 6.2% on month and 15.3% on year to an all time high of NT$6.51 billion (US$219.1 million) in August 2013.
SPIL announced consolidated revenues of NT$44.06 billion for the first eight months of 2013, up 2.8% from a year earlier.
Buoyed by a pull-in of orders from companies engaged in the design of handset chips and wireless communication ICs, SPIL is expected to post record consolidated sales in the third quarter of 2013, the Chinese-language Commercial Times quoted market watchers as saying in a recent report. SPIL has enjoyed growing shipments for wireless ICs, wirebond and flip-chip (FC) packaging.
SPIL had record quarterly sales in the third quarter of 2007, when the company generated NT$18.31 billion. Combined sales for July and August 2013 reached NT$12.64 billion.
SPIL said previously that third-quarter sales would register a moderate sequential increase. SPIL reported NT$17.6 billion in consolidated revenues for the second quarter of 2013, up 27.4% sequentially and hitting the highest quarterly level since third-quarter 2008.
