Dubbed the Meizu MX3, the company's new flagship packs a large 5.1-inch display with an odd and unheard of 1800 x 1080 resolution panel which translates to a familiar 15:9 aspect ratio (remember the Nexus 4?). With a 2.9mm super-slim bezel, 72mm wide body and 9.1mm thickness, this 143 gram heavy MX3 is here to impress you with its form factor, and of course, the company's world-famous Flyme Android-iOS mashup UI.
Powered by Samsung's Exynos 5 Octa SoC, you get quad-core Cortex A15 and A7 clusters who work separately depending on your workload (we don't have a confirmation on the SoC model number). You get 2 GB of RAM and an 8 megapixel rear camera made by Sony with a f/2.0 lens and a Fujitsu image processor which helps capture speeds of up to 20FPS. Then you have a not-so-impressive 2 MP front snapper for video calls and self-portraits. Additionally, the MX3 comes with a Wolfson audio chip which helps deliver high signal-to-noise and low distortion scores. There's also a 2,400 mAh Sony battery and the company's newest Flyme OS 3.0, a popular UI overlay running on an unannounced version of Google Android.
The 16 GB model of the MX3 costs (CNY 2,499) $400, much higher than the base price of the company's previous flagship, the MX2. Pricing goes all the way up to $650 for the flagship 128 GB variant, making it the first Smartphone to support such a large amount of storage.
