Asustek Computer may have difficulty achieving its shipment goal of 20 million notebooks for 2013 and its tablet shipments may only reach 12 million units, at most, as its second-quarter notebook shipments have been weaker than expected, while visibility for third-quarter demand is also not strong, according to the company.
Meanwhile, Asustek may also have trouble keeping its 2013 profits at the same level as in 2012 despite the fact that its revenues will continue to see growth.
Asustek had consolidated revenues of NT$448.68 billion (US$15.04 billion) in 2012, up 17% on year with net profits reaching NT$22.42 billion, up 35% and EPS at NT$29.79, all breaking historical records. The company also distributed dividends of NT$19 in cash. |
