To keep up with the surge of cheap Cortex-A7 based quad-core SoCs, Qualcomm announced four new additions to its Snapdragon 200 family. The four are built on the new 28 nm silicon fab process, and combine dual- or quad-core Cortex-A7 CPUs with Adreno 302 graphics, that's good enough for screens with up to 720p resolution, and a soft-modem that offers HSPA+ (21.1 Mbps down, 5.76 Mbps up) support, in addition to 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.0. The soft-modem supports dual- and triple-SIM standby. The Snapdragon 200 8612 and 8212 lead the pack, with their quad-core 1.20 GHz CPUs, and Adreno 302 graphics; while the 8612 and 8212 offer dual-core 1.20 GHz CPUs, and the same Adreno 302.
