Phison Electronics, which designs and makes controllers for NAND flash memory chips, has said revenues for the fourth quarter of 2009 are on track to increase 15% sequentially to NT$7.7-7.8 billion (US$238-241 million), the year's quarterly high.
Phison said it has seen order visibility stretch to February 2010, which has been rarely seen during a traditional off-season. The controller IC supplier has seen inventory level reduce significantly since the end of October, according to the company.
Average gross margin for November and December is estimated at 15.6%, compared to 13.8% for the third quarter, the company indicated. Overall, Phison expects fourth-quarter results to beat third-quarter levels, defying seasonal patterns.
