Memory module maker A-Data Technology has entered into a distribution deal with Ingram Micro for the India market, according to the Taiwan-based memory module maker. Ingram Micro will help market and distribute A-Data's memory products, which include DRAM modules, USB flash drives, memory cards and solid state drives (SSD).
A-Data chairman Simon Chen has said the company is considering adding 3-4 overseas offices to reach a total of 16-17 in 2010, and India is among the sites.
A-Data expects revenues for 2010 to score a historic high, resetting the record of NT$44 billion in 2006. It saw 2009 revenues grow 20.2% to NT$34.84 billion, and returned to profitability.
Rival Transcend Information has partnered with Bharti Enterprises to promote its memory products in India since the third quarter of 2008. The regional distributor began to sell Transcend's high-margin strategic products which include digital photo frames, external hard drives and digital music players in the market in June last year.
