The Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA) has announced the roster of speakers and companies that will make presentations at the GSA Memory Conference to be held in Taipei on March 16. Oh-Hyun Kwon, Semiconductor Business president at Samsung Electronics, will be among the keynote speakers.
Executives who will make presentations at the event also include Etron Technology chairman Nicky Lu; Macronix International president Chih-Yuan Lu; Quality and Technology VP at Cisco Systems Mark Brillhart; Sonix CTO Drew Wingard; IBM semiconductor R&D center chief technologist Subramanian Iyer; Numonyx CTO Edward Doller; and Innovative Silicon founder and CTO Pierre Fazan.
The speakers and presenters at GSA Memory Conference will share their perspectives and insights regarding the business model, applications and future opportunities of DRAM, NAND flash and other emerging memory technologies such as phase change memory.
In other news, industry sources have speculated that Samsung's chip business is likely to raise its 2010 capex by an additional three trillion won (US$2.65 billion). The memory chip vendor revealed at its last investors conference a capex of more than 5.5 trillion won for its chip business this year.
