Korea-based Samsung Electronics has reportedly replaced its management team in Brazil despite the team's efforts helping Samsung to become the largest vendor in the country, defeating Hewlett-Packard (HP), according to sources from the upstream supply chain.
The sources noted that the replacement was reportedly due to Samsung's dissatisfaction with its profit performance in the country; however, the rumors have not been confirmed by the company.
The sources pointed out that Samsung was aggressive about raising its share in Brazil's PC market through price cuts in 2012 and the strategy successfully helped the vendor to become the largest PC brand in Brazil at the end of 2012.
The sources believe the replacement may help Brazil's average PC pricing to recover. |
