Notebook ODMs Quanta Computer, Compal Electronics and Inventec on January 9 reported consolidated revenues for December, decreasing on month by 12.25%, 4.07% and 2.40% respectively.
Quanta shipped an estimated 54 million notebooks in 2012, dipping nearly 4% from 2011, and 15 million tablets of which most were Nexus 7 and Kindle Fire, according to stock market analysts. Quanta is expected to ship 57-58 million notebooks and more than 20 million tablets in 2013, with the proportion of consolidated revenues from non-notebook product lines to rise from nearly 30% in 2012 to nearly 35%, the sources said.
Compal shipped an estimated 37.4 million notebooks in 2012 and is likely to ship over 40 million units in 2013, the sources indicated. In addition, Compal is expected to ship 6-8 million tablets in 2013.
Inventec shipped 17-18 million notebooks in 2012 and shipments in 2013 are expected to be the same, the sources indicated.
