Asustek Computer saw strong sales performance in North America in 2012 and is set to challenge an exponential sales growth target in 2013, according to Asustek North America's vice president of marketing department, Kevin Huang.
In 2013, Huang believes the company will be able to expand in the North America retail channel and also expand into niche markets such as education and the military. The company also expects to become a top-five notebook brand in the North America region in 2013.
Since the first quarter is the traditional slow season, Huang expects consumer demand in North America to start picking up after April. Consumers in North America will also need some time before accepting Windows 8, Huang said.
Currently, Asustek is the fourth-largest notebook brand in Canada and the sixth-largest in the US.
Although tablets will enjoy the strongest and the fastest shipment growth in 2013, price competition is expected to remain fierce for the segment. |
