Consolidated revenues at Siliconware Precision Industries (SPIL) in October hit the highest monthly level thus far in 2012, according to statistics released by the Taiwan-based IC packaging and testing house.
SPIL announced October consolidated revenues of NT$5.81 billion (US$198 million), up 2.6% sequentially. Consolidated sales for the first 10 months of 2012 increased 6.8% from a year ago to NT$54.31 billion.
SPIL has enjoyed growth in orders for communications ICs placed by MediaTek, but orders from its PC-chip clients including Marvell, AMD and Nvidia are likely to fall on month through December, according to market watchers.
SPIL expects to report flat growth or an up to 3% sequential decrease in consolidated revenues for the fourth quarter of 2012. Growth coming from the mobile device end market will be partially offset by the continued weakness in the PC sector, the firm has said.
SPIL generated consolidated sales of NT$16.85 billion in the third quarter of 2012, up about 2% sequentially and meeting just the low end of its guidance range.
