DRAM module maker Transcend Information plans to roll out embedded MMC (eMMC) devices supporting eMMC 4.41 standards targeting niche market applications, according to the company.
The eMMC 4.41 device supports 1bit, 4bit and 8bit data bandwidth with an interface voltage of 1.8V or 3.3V, said the company,
The eMMC solutions will utilize 21nm toggle-mode DDR NAND flash to support sequential performance, TRIM and secure erase functionalities, noted the company, adding that the eMMC devices will come in 4GB, 8GB and 16GB packages for lower power consumption and slim-size applications, Transcend noted.
To avoid keen competition in the mainstream smartphone market, Transcend will push sales of its eMMC devices to the industrial and consumer electronics product sectors. |
