Advanced Semiconductor Engineering (ASE) and Siliconware Precision Industries (SPIL) have reported decreases in June consolidated revenues from the previous month of 1.7% and 5.9%, respectively.
ASE announced consolidated revenues of NT$15.37 billion (US$516 million) for June 2012. Consolidated sales for the second quarter amounted to NT$45.87 billion, rising 6.4% sequentially.
ASE's consolidated revenues consist of sales generated by EMS subsidiary Universal Scientific Industrial (USI). Excluding USI, ASE saw June sales of its core ATM (assembly test and material) business slip 2.6% on month to NT$10.78 billion. The ATM business collected NT$32.49 billion in second-quarter sales, showing sequential growth of about 11%.
ASE previously estimated that the core operation would post a shipment rise of about 15% sequentially in the second quarter, thanks to some pick-up in orders from its IDM clients.
Fellow IC packaging company SPIL generated NT$5.39 billion in June consolidated revenues. Consolidated sales for the second quarter of 2012 totaled NT$16.56 billion, up 9.5% sequentially and in line with company guidance of 7-11% growth.
In addition, testing specialist King Yuan Electronics (KYEC) and Chipbond Technology, a provider of LCD driver IC backend services, both enjoyed sequential sales growth in the second quarter.
June sales at testing specialist King Yuan Electronics (KYEC) increased 2.4% on month to NT$1.08 billion. The firm posted consolidated sales of NT$3.13 billion in the second quarter of 2012, up 14.7% on quarter.
Driver-IC packaging and testing house Chipbond Technology reported June consolidated revenues of NT$1.16 billion, down 7.5% on month. Consolidated sales rose 8.8% sequentially to NT$3.63 billion in the second quarter.
