Memory module maker Transcend Information has announced third-quarter net profits grew 38% sequentially to NT$730 million (US$24.4 million), citing higher shipments of NAND flash products and foreign-exchange gains.
Transcend's net profits for the first three quarters of 2011 amounted to NT$2.15 billion, soaring 81% from a year ago. EPS came to NT$5.04 compared to the NT$2.79 posted in the first three quarters of 2010.
Transcend credited the positive results to the company's improved product mix and emphasis on high-margin industrial memory products and its own-brand business. With steady customer demand and generally long lead-time orders, changes in raw material costs have had little impact on Transcend's profit performance, the company added.
Transcend said it currently has 11 sales operations overseas. Products exported to countries outside Taiwan account for as high as 85% of company sales at present, Transcend indicated. |
