Samsung Electronics reportedly plans to allocate KRW15 trillion (US$13.3 billion) to chip capex in 2012, but company high-level executives have denied the speculation, according to a Korean-language MT News report.
Samsung has not yet finalized its capex budget for the coming year, the report quoted unnamed company executives as indicating.
Samsung previously said its chip capex for 2011 would reach KRW10.3 billion, of which KRW5.8 trillion would be invested in its memory operation and the remainder in system LSI.
