The growth of the OLED panel market is accelerating as the panels are used in an increasing number of laptops and tablet PCs as well as smartphones and smart watches. According to market research firm Omdia, this year’s global laptop shipments are estimated at 258.4 million units, up 17 percent from a year earlier. In 2019, the shipments were 171.5 million units. The figure jumped 29 percent last year and is continuing to increase this year. With the demand for high-spec laptops surging, manufacturers are employing OLED instead of LCD panels in their laptops.
