Intel is expected to produce its next-generation graphics processing unit via TSMC and utilize TSMC’s seven-nanometer process technology to compete with Nvidia. The 7-nm GPU is forecast to be released late this year or early next year. Intel-Nvidia competition will further intensify if the GPU production goes as planned. Recently, Nvidia entrusted the production of its latest GPU GeForce RTX 30 to Samsung Electronics. The GPU is likely to adopt Samsung Electronics’ 8-nm process technology and be released in the second half of this year. At present, the personal gaming PC market is in a boom and high-performance GPUs are in high demand. The GPU of Intel is targeting this market, in which the ongoing competition is mainly between Nvidia and AMD.
