Price trends in the NAND flash spot market were flat this week (September 5-9) with micro SD cards continuing to see great performance in terms of demand and pricing.
Demand for 2GB micro SD cards at the spot market rose with most demand coming from China-based vendors for bundle products. Prices increased to US$3.0x, from US$2.9x from last week, the research firm added.
As of September 9, the spot price for 32Gb MLC increased 1% to US$3.58 while 64Gb MLC was flat at US$6.26.
DRAM mainstream prices fell slightly this week at the spot market since most traders still have DDR3 on hand and are conservative about procuring more at the moment. Currently, DDR3 inventory in the channel is at six weeks. Overall pricing might see an improvement once inventory levels drop to less than four weeks.
As of the noon session of September 9, spot pricing of white-branded 2Gb DDR3 dropped 4% to US$0.80 and branded 2Gb DDR3 was flat at US$0.98, the research firm said.
