Phison Electronics has seen orders for SSDs ramp up, which will be driving the company's revenue growth in the third quarter of 2018, according to the memory device controller IC specialist.

Robust SSD demand is also expected to buoy Phison's sales performance in 2019 and 2020, the company believes. Phison has landed orders of its new-generation SSD controllers for a total of over 100 designs, the company noted.

Among Phison's new-generation SSD controllers, the PS5012 series PCIe SSD controllers manufactured using TSMC's 28nm process technology supports the super-fast PCIe Gen 3x4 interface for read and write speeds of up to 3,450MB/s and 3,150MB/s, respectively, and up to 8TB capacity. The series has attracted orders for a total of more than 20 designs for applications such as AI, enterprise servers, gaming PCs and portable SSDs for business professionals.

In addition, Phison has developed controller solutions for 96-layer and QLC NAND flash products, which are ready for volume shipments, the company said.
