The worldwide top-5 notebook brands saw their combined shipments in February increase slightly on a sequential basis, reaching 8.08 million units, led mainly by US-based vendors. As for the first two months of 2018 combined, the shipments were flat from the same period a year ago.

The top vendor Hewlett-Packard (HP) saw its shipments rebound on month in February, while Dell beat Lenovo to second place thanks to contribution from the enterprise sector. Lenovo had a sharp shipment decline in the month and saw its gap with HP widen to over one million units, according to Digitimes Research's figures.

The top-3 ODMs' combined shipments increased 7% on month in February with Quanta Computer being the only one of the top-3 that saw a drop. Compal Electronics and Wistron both enjoyed an around 20% growth from January.
